The (mini) series is built around a premise in which nearly the entire British national pension fund is emptied by criminals who force key hostages to authorize the transfers. What would that feel like? Imagine Taiwan’s Labor Pension Fund —flush with stock-market gains—suddenly vanishing overnight. The whole country would explode. On Amazon Prime Video in Taiwan the subscription is only 45% of Netflix’s price, so being able to watch this series feels like excellent value. Beyond the sheer scale of the money involved, the pacing and plot twists are expertly engineered. All six episodes fly by and leave you thoroughly satisfied. Writer Sotiris Nikias is highly skilled; the arguments he puts in the characters’ mouths come across with genuine moral weight. Sophie Turner , formerly of HBO’s Game of Thrones , is one lucky actress. Moving to Amazon, she landed roles in two series, with a Tomb Raider series still to come.
